Daniel is a native New Yorker. He attended film school at The New York Film Academy and persued writing, poetry and art. He was inspired by the underground art and music scene in New York and befriended emerging hip hop artists and spoken word poets. As an accomplished abstract artist, his paintings have been shown in private galleries in New York, The West Coast, and Spain. He participated in a group show of 14 artists at the Museo de la Ciudad in Madrid.
Inspired by a dream while in his 20's, while working as a commodities trader for Comsup in New York and later for Marc Rich in Switzerland, he completed his first novel, Memoirs of A Murder. This would be the seed that would 20 years later blossom into the screenplay and movie, Identical. He has also completed the following works: Poetry “A Collection of Works” (30 years), Non Fiction “OCD and Me”.
Professionally, Daniel's business career flourished with a pinnicle move to Paris, France with strategic marketing with clients across Europe. However, after a tragic death of a family friend this became a turning point which lead to a dramatic change in careers. Feeling the need to explore and express his creative side, Daniel moved his family back to Santa Barbara, CA and retired from commodities trading in 2009 to pursue his passion for full time writing.
Under the working title, Bleecker Street, Daniel co-directed his film in New York in June of 2010. Bleecker Street was changed to Identical in September 2010 in post production.
